2008 Summer Technology Institute
I must say, this was one of the best and most enjoyable classes I've taken in a very long time. I would encourage any educator to attend another year. It was energetic, well run, great food :) and more information than my brain could swallow up. The best of it is that the things I learned are now housed on a "ning," which is a way of building an "on-line communtiy," so I can refer to that when I need to. One of the valuable components of the ning is that people add and contribute their expertise in an on-going fashion so it is constantly changing and remaining current with state-of-the-art information about all the stuff you and I could not possibly keep up with on our own. Please feel free to check it out as it is mainly intended for educators and contains a ton of valuable information: http://tech4me.ning.com/ . I also was reminded that my learning is on-going, and I can never know enough to be on top of technology. It is changing way too fast. Hopefully I'll be able to help peers more with my new-found knowledge about lots of different tools. I know I will be better able to infuse/integrate technology into my classes.
